Body Types Affect Dress Sizes
For many young woman, when they get fitted for their potential cheap prom dresses for prom is when they learn of their body dimensions. Body dimensions are commonplace information for tailors as they are the primary numbers necessary for comfortably fitting clothes to a person’s body type. Body dimensions are measured at the shoulder, the bust (or chest), and the hips. The vast majority of human figures conform to four general body types. This information is frequently used by big name manufacturers and retailers of cheap prom dresses so they can mass market dresses to the widest amount of potential customers possible. The four very general body types are known as apple, banana, hourglass, and pear. Apple body types consist of women with shoulders that are broader than their hips, banana body types have small waists and larger shoulders and busts, hourglass body types are made of dimensions which are all very similar to each other, and pear body shapes consist of the hips being greater than the bust.
Body type researchers have discovered that the majority of women living in the northern hemisphere conform to the banana body type followed by the pear. The apple and hourglass body types were relatively rarer than the other two body shapes. Armed with this information, manufacturers of cheap prom dresses design many of their dresses to adhere to the banana body type. Of course, these same manufacturers also create dresses that fit the other three body types, but it can be quite beneficial to a young lady attending prom to realize and understand which body type she is apart of when purchasing a dress. When a potential prom attendee knows what type of body type they possess they can much more efficiently choose the type of dress which fits them best.
